Hi buddy, I put this forum here on a wim but as you can see hardly use it, shoot over to the FarRiders forum if you like http://farriders.com/forum/index.php

Will get you out on a FarRide one day.

Very pleased with the Conti's so far, depends on wear. They offered me two sets of the Road Attacks so can't say no to that. Hope they will continue support for the US ride.

lol..I've always been a fan of BMW cars and have owned several but the bikes have always left me a bit cold although I know being BMW's they are great ergonomically comfortable and generally reliable etc etc, hmm but not to mention the designers might have been on really wicked drugs doing the design work on some of them Grin, I know the riders swear black and blue about their famed reliability (a bit like Guzzi Owners) but I too have heard so many owners complain about..hmm..no mention the bike had this big issue or that one and it was taken as an understandable given.

I've listened too these things and thought that hey none of my Kawasakis have done that or even been remotely an issue, my 1st ZZR1100 chalked up 110,000k's with out drama until it was written off, my A5 Z1300 120,000k's and only $220 spent on spares, mainly clutch cables and my used and abused 94 ZZR1100 chalked up 140,000k.s until I blew it up doing a clutch up wheelstand in 3rd and my ex's GT750 ran up 85,000k's trouble free.

I suppose reliability is a subjective thing just like art is and what you expect reliability to be, Im not knocking Beemers but on the same token are they really what they are cracked up to be especially for the price?? I've looked at them many times and thought about them and the end result was always a new Kwakka.. Grin

Hi Davo, just thought I might join in here and see a bit more about your rides, I have to admit I can't get enough of long distance riding so i'm a bit green with envy, great to see your on Continentals too now, great tyres.

I'm almost finished the rebuild of my ZZR1109 and hope to be back out there again soon.. ciao 4 now..

The start location was told to those attending the National Meet at Tulsa, not told to all '09 IBR riders but we found out anyhow.

It's no big deal as its ages away.

From an online mate:
... as announced in Tulsa, the 09 IBR will start in Spartanburg, SC.... home of BMW
manufacturing in the USA.

More:
Mike made the announcement at the spur of the moment during the IBR Riders
meeting thursday evening.... it was getting rather comical as we went around
the room introducing ourselves with our name, where we were from, and what
bike we planned on riding.  It quickly started sounding like Bike's
anomynous with all the BMW riders saying "I'm riding my _(model) BMW and I'm
on my 2nd Final drive" or 3rd, 4th, etc.  Almost every BMW rider had
experienced one failure.  Mike had consumed a few beers by this time and
just couldn't resist making the announcement of the start location and why
(home of USA BMW).
